Garry Currin: PyeongChang Biennale 2017

Currently on show ahead of the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. The biennale unfolds at Alpensia Resort, north of Seoul. Consisting of invitational exhibitions of works as well as performances, symposiums, and media art displays.

The theme of the PyeongChang Biennale 2017 of 'The Five Moons : Return of the Nameless and Unknown' is an exhibition of providing the private and micro-historical view through the context of contemporary art. Through this exhibition participated by various domestic & foreign artists, the individual lives, trifles and the value in everyday life are shed with new light, and the new view of looking at the future is provided.

As a new perspective and multisensory approach to the nature and the environment, the relationship of humans coexisting with nature, and the hidden side of the spectacle scenary are viewed. At the same time, the lives and reality of the individuals composing the uncertain reality are investigated. The new value of the hidden lives and everyday life of the individuals neglected in the flow of modern history, and the trivial things are focused. Moreover, the desires of the era, issues in the modern world, and the signs of human psychology are identified, and multi-lateral view of seeing the future based on these phenomenon and issues are provided.
