In 17th century France Francois Simonet de Coulmier was the Director of the Charenton Asylum and with no medical background, he was one of the first people who believed in the humanitarian treatment of patients.

He believed in art, writing, theatre and dance as therapy. He supported the patients performing plays, formed a choir and allowed the Marquis De Sade, a patient there, to write.

So my call is: where is the humanity, where is the caring?

Where is de Coulmier when we need him?
