Gold Strike is an visual reconstruction of the 1912 Strike in the mining town of Waihi - The people, places and the locations of this vivid, violent and ultimately tragic event.

Bob Kerr is a Wellington painter and author with an interest in New Zealand's history and landscape. His paintings are held in private collections in New Zealand and overseas.

Perhaps his best known work is on the cover of Michael King's Penguin History of New Zealand.
