New Zealander Sue Hawker's extraordinary work in adapting the traditional methods and scale of pate de verre has earned her reputation of ground-breaker in the field of international glass art.
Hawker is no stranger to art awards: she has been a finalist in
the 2007 Bombay Sapphire NZ Collection, a finalist in the Molly
Morpeth Canaday Awards from 2007 to 2010, a finalist in the Ranamok
Award in 2009, the year before she was judged the winner and again
in 2011 and 2012, and Jurors' Choice, New Glass Review 32, Corning
Museum of Glass, New York in 2011. Sue Hawker exhibits her work
regularly throughout New Zealand and Australia, selling pieces to
local and international collections.
